So much choice. We offer a handmade book of 5 walks from the door but feel free to use our O.S maps and go off piste on your own route. There is so much vaired terrain here, rivers, moorland, fields, hills, reservoirs, beach and Tors. Walk for an hour or all day.

Depending on your bike, riding here is very diverse. Haldon Hill (20mins) is a great woodland park for off roading and you can hire bikes there. They also have a freestyle park, it’s good for all ages and levels. www.forestcyclehire.co.uk

We are just off the B3212 and B3193, 2 very challenging road bike routes. Dartmoor Classic comes past us too.

Fly-fishing at the reservoirs – drop your day permit cash in the box and off you go. Also Fingle Bridge Inn offers day permits to fish in the river Teign – a totally gorgeous spot. Trout fishing on Dartmoor is easy – we like Tavistock Lake. They have a good kids pond to fish in, only fly fishing in the adult lakes all equipment can be hired here, www.tavistocktroutfishery.co.uk

There are many courses in the National Park, our favourite is the glorious Bovey Castle. You can hire all your equipment from their Pro shop, it is expensive but a great course in a beautiful location. www.boveycastle.com

Teignmouth Golf Club is justifiably proud of its heritage. The course was designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1924, some 9 years before he completed his most famous work at the Augusta National, home of the US Masters.

Teignmouth’s course is situated near to the South Devon coast and, at 800 feet above sea level, it commands spectacular views of the sea and nearby moors. https://teignmouthgolfclub.co.uk
